DJ & Sara Hurst
Strength training is the vehicle.
Personal development is the destination.
The Filter
We believe that combining a set of core principles that make training durable with data, logic, and nuance is what separates lifters who compound progress over years from those who perpetually reset.
We do not work with shortcut hunters, trend chasers, or anyone seeking a quick fix. If you are ready to stop patching your progress and start installing a robust operating system for human capability, you are in the right place.
The real goal is becoming the kind of person who can carry more, endure more, and contribute more.
Coaching Offerings
Coaching is delivered in structured, purpose-driven blocks designed for repeatability and long-term sustainability.
Fully individualized programming tailored to your specific goals: Elite Strength, Hypertrophy/Body Recomposition, or Health Marker Optimization. Includes system-based programming, standardized execution video review, and weekly accountability.
World-class preparation and precision peaking for competitive athletes approaching a platform date. Includes specific meet-day strategy and attempt selection based on elite-level experience.
A comprehensive nutrition and lifestyle framework designed to optimize performance, body composition, and internal health markers.
The majority of our clients train and dial in nutrition together — and the results reflect it. When programming and nutrition architecture run in parallel, the compound effect is significantly greater than either alone.
A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is required for all new clients.
Action over intake. Every time.
The Process
Submit your intake form to determine whether your goals align with Long Haul Strength.
We build your baseline — reviewing your current habits, bloodwork (if applicable), and training history to install the initial framework.
Execute the process, standardize your reps, and earn your progress through intelligent effort.
The Coaches
The Record
Sobriety achieved without replacement drugs or external rescue — through radical honesty and delayed gratification. The barbell entered the picture within a week of getting sober.
Major training interruptions. Rebuilt each time.
Near-death. Dramatic weight loss. Near amputation. Rebuilt.
Nearly a year away from training. Rebuilt.
Near cardiac arrest. Temporary loss of sensation and movement in both legs. Rebuilt.
First at age 40, self-coached. Repeated at The Shack Showdown, an invite-only elite event. The first proved it was possible. The second proved it was who he had become.
Obstacles are inevitable. The outcome matters far less than the ability to continue moving forward and continue building.
